Worldwide Insects

We have collected insects and arachnids for more than 30 years in Thailand and many of them were from other countries. There are more than 40 shown cases in a large exhibition room of about 250 square meters. Mainly tropical insects, arachnids and those from other parts of the world are on displaying.

Look ! What’s this ?
They are for examples, Dynastid beetles from Colombia (the Hercules beetles, the Neptune beetles), the Goliath beetles from Africa, the elephant beetle from Mexico. the beautiful Morpho-butterflies were from the US including the spectacular owl butterflies, the glass-wing butterflies and the popular Monarch butterflies. Don’t miss to see them with your own eyes, the gynandromorph butterfly from the north of Thailand. It is an abnormal individual containing characteristics of both sexes, male on one side and female on the other.

We have some other activities to show in the exhibition room such as:
- A guidance to collect and preserve insects for scientific study and as hobby.

- Demonstration on how to rear and take care for the young butterfly caterpillars and also for young beetles caterpillars which more techniques are needed.
- Eatable insects, diet food for local people.
- Aquatic insects.
- Insect pests of economic crops.
- Many posters concluding the life cycle of interesting butterfly species.
- Insect of medical importance, i.e. poisonous insects to human, biting insects and insects transmission diseases to human.

The other part of our museum is for scientific studying purposes which we are in cooperating with universities and other experts in entomology worldwide. We have collected and preserved value specimens in closed tight-stored cases with labels. The more we do the better we are. They are currently deposited in our museum and will be there last forever.
