The Aroon’s Silverline, Spindasis arooni Murayama & Kimura, 1990 an endemic species from Thailand ผีเสื้อลายขีดเงินอรุณ ผีเสื้อสวยเป็นแมลงเฉพาะถิ่นของประเทศไทย

Wingspan 28-32 mm. A female of this species was first captured by Mr. Aroon Samruadkit at Doi Pha Hom Pok (2.IV.1981). Two males in Mr. Prasobsuk Sukkit’s collection were caught from Doi Phukha (31.I.1992 and 1.IV.1993). Male UP is dark purplish-blue, lighter background in contrast to FW?s dark border under a bright light, FW border 1.0 mm at tornus, 3.0 mm at termen between veins 2-5 and 5.0 mm at vein 7 near apex). HW dark costal border ends at vein 6 with an orange patch at tornal area; UN clear yellowish-white background, broad dark brown bands with yellowish-silver center, FW with two subapical bands, the outer short band and the inner band consisting of three conjoined spots, both forming a triangle and almost contiguous. HW sub-basal band broken into separated spots, orange tornal patch with two sub-tornal black spots, a small marginal black spot in space 1b and a large black spot at tornal lobe. Distribution: NT (Doi Pha Hom Pok, Doi Phukha).
ผีเสื้อลายขีดเงินอรุณ เป็นผีเสื้อเฉพาะถิ่นที่พบเฉพาะที่ดอยผ้าห่มปก จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ และดอยภูคา จังหวัดน่าน อาจารย์อรุณสำรวจกิจเป็นคนแรกที่จับผีเสื้อชนิดนี้เพศเมียได้จากดอยภูคาเมื่อ 1 เมษายน 1981 (พ.ศ. 2524) เก็บรักษาอยู่ที่พิพิธภัณฑ์สวนสัตวแมลงสยาม ชื่อผีเสื้อชนิดนี้ได้รับการตั้งไว้ตั้งแต่ปี 1990 คือหลังจากจับผีเสื้อได้ 9 ปี
