Adult wingspand 40-41 mm. Fore-wing light brown with median broad stripe and subapical small triangular black patch. Hind-wing white with smoky black at borders. The caterpillars of this species are sometimes pests on corn, soybenas, rice and pormeganate. The caterpillars are brown and hairy, and have a median yellow stripe along the back. Distribution in Southeast Asia to Auistralia.
         ผีเสื้อลายเสือแถบยาว ตัวเต็มวัยมีปีกกว้าง 40-41 มิลลิเมตร ปีกคู่หน้าสีน้ำตาลอ่อน มีแถบสีดำกว้างค่อนข้างยาว และอีกแถบสั้นๆ ใกล้ปลายปีก ปีกคู่หลังมีสีขาวขุ่น ขอบปีกมีสีเขม่าดำ ตัวอ่อนมีสีน้ำตาลและมีขนมาก ด้านบนหลังมีแถบสีเหลืองพาดตรงกลางตามความยาว บางครั้งอาจจะเป็นศัตรูของข้าวโพด ถั่วเหลือง ข้าว และ ทับทิม  เขตแพร่กระจาย พบในเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ลงไปถึงออสเตรเลีย

        Marble Tiger Moth is a variable species moth of the Family Arctiidae. Disitribution is in Peninsular Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand be a selected photo moth for September 2012. While I visit Botaniocal Garden at Mae Rim in Mid August 2012 I found a huge number of black hairy caterpillars walking here and there everywhere in a guest house. So I brought back some and reared them with a limited of food plant, Oroxylum indicum (L.) Kurz. Bignoniaceae found. Many of them died, however, some successfully emerged as seen.  The black caterpillars have none-poisonous hairs.

ผีเสื้อลายเสือหินอ่อน เป็นผีเสื้อในวงศ์ผีเสื้อลายเสือ Arctiidae มีเขตแพร่กระจายในมาเลเซีย เวียดนาม และไทย มีหลายชนิดในสกุลนี้ ตัวเต็มวัยมีสีขาวคล้ายลายหินอ่อน แต่มีความหลากหลายของแต้มสีดำสูง ผู้เขียนพบหนอนมีขนยาวจำนวนมากเดินกันเพ่นพ่านที่บ้านพักที่สวนพฤกษศาสตร์ แม่ริมเมื่อกลางเดือนสิงหาคมที่ผ่านมา หนอนกินใบเพกา จึงได้เก็บไปเลี้ยง แต่เนื่องจากพืชอาหารมีจำกัดจึงทำให้หนอนส่วนใหญ่ตาย แต่ก็ได้ผีเสื้อตัวเต็มวียรอดมาได้อย่างที่เห็น หนอนมีขนน่ากลัว แต่ไม่ใช่ขนที่มิพิษจึงสามารถจับต้องได้ด้วยมือเปล่า

BMNH.A beautiful tiger moth, with the long front legs looked like frog-legged while resting.Male, the ground color is pale yellowish, with brick red spots on forewing in ssp. bigamica and orange yellow in the ssp. orientalis. Female is similar to the male, but larger. Distribution in Thailand (Petchabun, Chiang Mai, Chaing Rai, Nan, Mae Hong Son, Khao Yai, Khao Soi Dao).

        ผีเสื้อลายเสือขีดแดงอิฐ เป็นผีเสื้อกลางคืนชนิดย่อยใหม่ที่ได้รับการตั้งชื่อและพิมพ์เผยแพร่ในเอกสารอ้างอิงข้างต้นเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 2009 โดย Holotype เพศผู้จับได้จากเขาคล้อ เพชรบูรณ์ ได้รับการเก็บรักษาที่พิพิธภัณฑ์แห่งชาติของประเทศอังกฤษ ผีเสื้อตัวเต็มวัยเวลาเกาะมักกางปีกเป็นรูปหลังคา ยื่นขาคู่หน้าซึ่งยาวออกมาด้านหน้า ขาที่พับเหมือนขากบ เพศผู้มีพื้นปีกสีเหลืองอ่อน มีลายขีดสีแดงอิฐ แทรกด้วยขีดและจุดสีดำ เพศเมียมีลักษณะเหมือนเพศผู้แต่มีขนาดใหญ่กว่าและแถบสีดำจางกว่า พบอย่างกว้างขวางในประเทศไทย เช่นที่เพชรบูรณ์ เชียงใหม่ เชียงราย น่าน แม่ฮ่องสอน เขาใหญ่ เขาสอยดาว เป็นต้น

       It is a common moth in sunnhemp or Crotalaria field, selected for moths of March 2010. The adult is a small white moth, fore-wing with red and black spots, hind-wing with black lower-bordered and black spots in the middle. Caterpillar has slim body, brown with orange markings and with a white longitudinal stripe on dorsum. It feeds on sunnhemp flowers and pods usually associated with other Crotalaria moths.      
       ปุ้งปอเทืองขาวจุดแดงดำ เป็นผีเสื้อกลางคืนในวงศ์ผีเสื้อลายเสือ มีขนาดเล็ก ตัวเต็มวัยมีสีขาว ปีกคู่หน้ามีจุดสีแดงและดำ ส่วนปีกคู่หลังมีขอบปีกด้านล่างสีดำ และมีจุดสีดำกระจายตรงกลาง หนอนมีรูปร่างเรียวยาว มีสีน้ำตาล จุดส้ม และแถบสีขาวด้านบนตามยาวของลำตัว หนอนกินดอกและเจาะกินในผลปอเทือง บ่อยครั้งที่พบอยู่ปะปนกับผีเสื้อหนอนปอเทืองชนิดอื่นๆ นอกจากนี้ยังพบหนอนกินใบและดอกหญ้างวงช้าง

        The adult is pale yellow, fore-wing pale orange yellow with series of white spotted markings on fore-wing, each with small black spot inside, chain like pattern. Hind-wing is darker orange yellow coloring with black spots. The larva is white with black and red spotted markings on each segment. The caterpillar feeds on pods of sunnhemp, Crotalaria juncea. Many of them are easily to be seen in the late season of sunnhemp which generally is in this month.
        ผีเสื้อบุ้งปอเทืองเหลือง เป็นผีเสื้อกลางคืนที่มีสีสวย เป็นตัวแทนของผีเสื้อกลางคืนเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ ๒๕๕๓ ผีเสื้อทั้งสองเพศมีลักษณะรูปร่างสีสันคล้ายคลึงกัน แต่เพศเมียมีขนาดใหญ่กว่าเล็กน้อย ลำตัวมีสีเหลือง ปีกคู่หน้าสีเหลืองอมส้มมีจุดขาวเรียงรายคล้ายโซ่ ภายในมีจุดดำ ส่วนปีกคู่หลังมีสีเหลืองอมส้มเข้มกว่าปีกคู่หน้า มีจุดสีดำหลาบยจุด หนอนของผีเสื้อชนิดนี้พบเจาะกินฝักปอเทือง หนอนมีสีขาว แต่ละปล้องมีลายสีดำ และแดงแต้มเรียงกันเป็นชุดไปตลอดถึงส่วนปลาย ความเสียหายอาจจะรุนแรงสำหรับปอเทืองที่ปลูกเพื่อเก็บเมล็ด ในปลายฤดูปลูกซึ่งอยู่ในช่วงนี้ด้วยจึงมักพบหนอนผีเสื้อชนิดนี้ไม่ยากนักในแปลงปลูกปอเทือง

        The adult is a beautiful moth, white with red markings. Wingspan is about 60 mm. Head and thorax covered with white hairs, head with transverse red bands infront and behind, thorax with a pair of black spots in the middle of both sides. Wings are white with red at costal border and 1-5 small black submarginal spots. The larva found on an unidentified weed in Lumphun. The large caterpillar bears reddish brown head, body with long dark brown to black hairs and reddish spots at body spiracles. It is a minor pest of corn (Corn pests of Thailand by Dr. Sutham Areekhul et al., 1970). Other hosts are groundnut, soybean, mungbean, other beans and peas, chilli and coffee.
         ผีเสื้อลายเสือขาวขอบแดง เป็นผีเสื้อกลางคืนขนาดเล็กที่มีสีสวยงาม ลำตัวปกคลุมด้วยขนสีขาวแต้มแดงโดยเฉพาะที่ขอบปีกด้านหน้า ที่ขอบด้านหน้าและหลังของส่วนหัว มีจุดสีดำใหญ่ 1  คู่ที่กลางสันหลังอกและจุดสีดำขนาดเล็ก 1-5 จุดใกล้ขอบปีกคู่หน้า เนื่องจากบางจุดมักจางหายไป หนอนขนาดใหญ่มีหัวสีน้ำตาบลแดง มีขนยาวสีน้ำตาลเข้ม แต่ไม่มีพิษ มีตุ่มนูนที่รูหายใจด้านข้างสีแดงจาง หนอนพบกินวัชพืชใบกว้างในแปลงปลูกลำไยที่จังหวัดลำพูนดังแสดงในภาพ แมลงชนิดนี้มีรายงานในหนังสือแมลงศัตรูข้าวโพด โดยดร.สุธรรมอารีกุลและคณะ (2513) พืชอาศัยอื่นๆ ได้แก่ ถั่วลิสง ถั่วเหลือง ถั่วเขียว พริก และกาแฟ แต่เป็นแมลงศัตรูพืชที่มีความสำคัญน้อย พบประปรายเป็นครั้งคราว

       ผีเสื้อปอเทืองสีปูน เป็นผีเสื้อที่เลือกมาให้เป็นผีเสื้อกลางคืนตัวเด่นประจำเดือนพฤษภาคม ๒๕๕๒ ผีเสื้อชนิดนี้มีสีชมพูทั้งตัว ปีกคู่หน้ามีจุกสีขาว ภายในจุดแต่ละจุดมีสีดำ เรียงรายคล้ายโซ่ ส่วนปีกคู่หลังมีสีชมพูเข้มมีแต้มจุดสีดำ หนอนของผีเสื้อชนิดนี้กินใบปอเทือง หนอนมีสีดำมีเส้นประบนหลังสีขาว ด้านล่างมีแต้มสีขาวและชมพู ช่วงที่ปอเทือง ออกดอกซึ่งมีสีเหลืองสวยงามมาก แต่บางทีก็อาจจะพบหนอนผีเสื้อดังกล่าวนี้อยู่ด้วย
