ผีเสื้อปีกราบแถบทองสีคล้ำ มีลักษณะภายนอกคล้ายกับผีเสื้อปีกราบแถบทองหิมาลัยมาก แต่แตกต่างที่แถบสีเหลืองทองมีความเรียบตรงมากกว่าโดยเฉพาะแนวด้านบนและจุดที่มุมปีกหน้าไม่ใหญ่เท่ากับผีเสื้อแถบทองหิมาลัย อย่างไรก็ตามผีเสื้อแถบทองหิมาลัยอีกชนิดย่อยหนึ่งคือ C. d. dhanada จุดที่มุมปีกกลับมีขนาดเล็กมากแตกต่างจากผีเสื้อทั้งสองชนิดที่กล่าวถึงข้างต้น

The skippers are the common names used for the members of this family. They generally are small in size, by having narrow and short wings, but with thick body. The antennae are widely separated at base, curved or hooked at tips. All pairs of legs are well developed. There are 3 subfamilies occurring in Thailand. The total number of Hesperiidae is about 309 species and 39 subspecies togerther.
วงศ์ผีเสื้อบินเร็ว ผีเสื้อหนวดตะขอ ผีเสื้อหัวโต เป็นผีเสื้อที่มีจำนวนมากเป็นอันดับสามรองจากผีเสื้อวงมรกตมรกต และผีเสื้อวงศ์นิมฟาลิดี้ ส่วนใหญ่มีขนาดเล็กรูปร่างกายค่อนข้างอ้วนป้อม ปีกค่อนข้างปีกสั้นค่อนข้างเรียวแคบ ฐานของหนวดอยู่แยกจากกันค่อนข้างมาก หนวดมีปลายเรียวเล็กงอเป็นรูปตะขอ มีกล้ามเนื้อปีกที่แข็งแรง บินได้ว่องไว ผีเสื้อวงศ์นี้มีลักษณะใกล้เคียงไปทางผีเสื้อกลางคืนมากที่สุด ลักษณะการเกาะของผีเสื้อวงศ์นี้บางชนิดมีการผึงปีกโดยแผ่กางปีกคู่หลังออกขนานกับพื้นส่วนปีกคู่หน้าหุบตั้งขึ้นตรงกลางเป็นลักษณะการเกาะที่ไม่พบในผีเสื้อวงศ์อื่นๆ ผีเสื้อบินเร็วที่พบในประเทศไทยแบ่งออกได้ 3 วงศ์ย่อย จำนวนผีเสื้อที่จำแนกชนิดไว้แล้วล่าสุดมีมากถึงประมาณ 310 ชนิด และ 38 ชนิดย่อยรวมกัน

Wingspan 32-39 mm. It is a rather larger species, differs from T. litigiosus in presence of a black usually double, postdiscal spot, above the larger marginal spot at vein 1b, the black marginal spots on HW are more or less the same size, differs from T. cohaerens in having white spot in space 3 as well, which not present in that species. ผีเสื้อป้ายขาวลายจุด เป็นผีเสื้อบินเร็วสีดำมีแถบขาวใหญ่ที่ชายปีกคู่หลัง ชริดที่เห็นนี้ได้ภาพมาสดๆ ร้อนๆ จากริมทางระหว่างเวียงป่าเป้าและห้วยฮ่องไคร้ เป็นชนิดที่มีจุดดำเรียงสองชั้นมนปีกคู่หลังแตกต่างจากชนิดใกล้เคียงคือผีเสื้อป้ายขาวใหม่ Tagiades vajuna อย่างไรก็ตามชื่อชนิดของผีเสื้อชนิดนี้ได้มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงคือเป็นเพียงชื่อเหมือนของผีเสื้อป้ายขาวลำธาร Tagiades litigiosus

The Tricolor Pied Flat, Coladenia indrani, from Lampang ผีเสื้อลายด่างสามสี จากสบปราบ ลำปาง
Coladenia indrani uposathra Fruhstorfer, 1911
Wingspan 35-38 mm. Male, body and UP wings orange, black at apical half of FW, with a series of yellowish submarginal spots, subapical white band, discal white spots in and out of the FW cell, HW with a narrow black border, with marginal white spots along termen and numerous black spots well present on HW. Another dark form found with similar markings, but coated with blackish scales on both sides of the wings. Lfp: Grewia microcos (Til.) หลาย, Mallotus philippinensis (Eup.) คำแสด, Xylia xylocarpa (Mim.) แดง. Distribution: B-TT (Chiang Mai, Lampang).
ผีเสื้อลายด่างสามสี สีสดสวยจากสวนป่าที่พักริมทางที่สบปราบ ลำปาง เมื่อสัปดาห์ที่แล้วขณะกำลังเดินทางไปเชียงใหม่ แม้จะมาเกาะกางปีกอยู่เพียงชั่วครู่เดียว แต่ผีเสื้อก็หมุนตัวเกิอบรอบให้ถ่ายรูปได้หลายท่า ตัวที่เห็นในภาพน่าจะเป็นเพศเมียซี่งจัดว่าหายากทีเดียว

The Moore’s Ace butterfly from Khao Soi Dao ผีเสื้อจุดเหลี่ยมนายมัวร์ จากเขาสอยดาว
Halpe porus (Mabille, 1877)
Wingspan 26-29 mm. Male, UP brown to blackish-brown, FW with two separated cell spots, two subapical spots and two larger postdiscal spots in spaces 2-3, HW paler at discal area, usually with an obscure whitish discal band. UN yellowish-brown to blackish brown, with well-defined markings, a prominent row of yellowish submarginal spots on FW, HW with a broad bright yellowish discal band from apex to mid-dorsum and a row of small submarginal spots, that in space 1b the largest. Female is paler and FW with larger spots. Distribution: I-TC, M (Chanthaburi, Chiang Mai, Phrae).
ผีเสื้อจุดเหลี่ยมนายมัวร์ เป็นผีเสื้อบินเร็วสีน้ำตาลขนาดเล็ก ปีกมีจุกเป็นช่องโปรงแสงโดยเฉพาะที่ใกล้ปลายปีกและส่วนกลางปีก เพศผู้มีแถบทางเพศที่สองอยู่บนปีกคู่หน้าในช่อง 1a, 1b ซึ่งอยู่ใกล้ของปีกด้านหลัง ผีเสื้อชนืดนี้มีหลายสิบชนิดและมีลักษณะใกล้เคียงกันมากจนบางครั้งยากที่จะจำแนกชนิดได้เพียงจากการดูภาพถ่าย จำเป็นต้องตรวจดูลักษณะต่างๆ จากตัวอย่างที่สุ่มเก็บมาเพื่อการศึกษาในห้องปฏิบัติการ
