The adult male has wingspan 40-45 mm, greenish brown colouration and somewhat striate texture give the appearance of a dry dead leaf, with two hyaline patches on the centre of the hindwing. The underside of the wings are pale whitish yellow. The forewing is strongly falcate. An adult male photo has been taken at a resting place, quite high altitude on the way from Vientiane to Luang Phrabang, Laos. I took only one photo of the underside of the wings from the glass-window. The uppeside photos was after Thaibugs, Chiang Mai. It is probably the largest species in Thailand and S.E. Asia. ผีเสื้อปีกขอยักษ์ ผีเสื้อกลางคืนเด่นของปีใหม่ เดือนมกราคม ๒๕๕๔ ตัวเต็มวัยเพศผู้ปีกกว้าง 40-45 มิลลิเมตร มีสีเขียวอ่อนปนน้ำตาลข้นข้างเข้ม มีลายเป็นเส้นเมื่อดูรวมๆ แล้วคล้ายเส้นใบไม้แห้ง ปีกคู่หลังมีช่องใส 2 ช่องกลางปีก ด้านล่างของปีกมีสีขาวจางและเหลือง ปีกคู่หน้ามีลักษณะเด่นที่ปลายเป็นมุมหักคล้ายตะขอใหญ่ ภาพผีเสื้อปีกขอยักษ์เพศผู้ด้านล่างของปีกถ่ายได้จากการไปเที่ยวลาว เป็นร้านอาหารกลางป่า เป็นที่สูงห่างจากหลวงพระบางเกือบ 100 กิโลเมตร ส่วนภาพด้านบนของปีกเป็นภาพจาก Thaibugs ซึ่งเข้าใจว่าถ่ายจากเชียงใหม่ เป็นผีเสื้อปีกขอที่มีขนาดใหญ่ที่สุดในประเทศไทยและเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้
