It is similar to Cofana spectra (Distant), but smaller and placed in a different family (Meenoplidae) from the latter (Cicadellidae). It often abundance along the edges of rice field, feeding on Cyperus spp., including C. rotundus, C. compactus, C. iria and Scirpus grossus. However, it has never been found to feed on rice.
เพลี้ยจั๊กจั่นแถบขาวเล็ก คล้ายจั๊กจั่นขาว Cofana spectra (Distant) มาก แต่ขนาดเล็กกว่าและอยู่ต่างวงศ์กัน อย่างไรก็ตามแมลงทั้งสองชนิดนี้พบมากขอบแปลงนาข้าวเพลี้ย จั๊กจั่นแถบขาวเล็กแม้ว่าจะพบใกล้นาข้าว แต่ไม่พบว่าดูดกินน้ำเลี้ยงจากต้นข้าว มีพืชอาศัยอื่นซึ่งได้แก่พืชสกุลกก เช่นแห้วหมู หญ้าใบคม กกทรายและแห้วกระดาน ตามลำดับชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์ข้างต้น เป็นต้น
